Manage customers and request exemption documents

Keep real contact details and private certificate records together.

  1. 1.Open Customers

Choose Customers from the dashboard navigation. Search by name, email, or phone, select a customer, or use Add to create a record. Email is optional.

  2. 2.Keep contact details accurate

Save the customer's real email and phone. If you need to correct contact information on an existing order, use that order's contact-edit action as well; do not assume editing a customer rewrites historical order details.

  3. 3.Create a certificate request

From the customer's certificate area, select the applicable state and request details, then generate a secure request link. Send the link by email or copy it into your normal messaging channel.

  4. 4.Have the customer submit evidence

The customer opens the link, completes the requested information, and uploads the supporting document. Keep the link private; do not ask customers to send account passwords or card details.

  5. 5.Review before accepting

An authorized merchant reviews the submission and saves its review status and notes. Use the document appropriate for the transaction's state and exemption type; there is no single form that fits every state.

  6. 6.Apply the reviewed exemption to an order

Open the relevant order's Payments & tax section and record the reviewed exemption and supporting details. Saving a certificate review alone does not remove tax from the order.
