Orders

Set approval deadlines or stop an outstanding request

Avoid leaving a time-sensitive approval or quote open indefinitely.

  1. 1.Find the response controls

Open the order's approval/request controls. Review the current request state and any existing response deadline before editing it.

  2. 2.Set the deadline

Enter Approve or pay by and choose Save deadline. This uses your local time zone; allow at least 30 minutes for a new Stripe checkout. Clear the field to remove the deadline. Tell the customer how it affects your schedule. The production due date is separate.

  3. 3.Withdraw an obsolete request

Choose Withdraw request and confirm if the request should no longer accept approval or payment. If Retry closing Stripe payment page appears, use it to retry closing the existing checkout. Cancelling the order is a separate workflow decision and may require additional permission.

  4. 4.Request or approve cancellation

Use Cancellation & owner review on the order. Employees can choose Request owner cancellation and enter a reason; the order stays open until the owner approves. The owner can approve or reject the request. A separate Cancel orders permission allows an employee to cancel directly and is off by default, including manager presets. Approval or direct cancellation closes payable Stripe sessions first; if closure fails, resolve the error instead of assuming cancellation succeeded. Already-completed payments still need separate review; cancelling does not refund money.

  5. 5.Review before resending

A withdrawn request needs a new request if you want to resend it. Check the price, proof, terms, and your schedule first rather than promising that the old link will still work.
